Sholay Vs Titanic: And the Winner is.....

When it comes to competition between Hollywood and Bollwyood, Hollywood movies hold the advantage in terms of quality, theme and motion. However, Bollywood movies get an edge in providing fun, entertainment and solid melo drama. When it comes to representation, Sholay leads the pack in Bollywood, while Titanic stands tall for Hollywood.

SHOLAY (1975)

Sholay is regarded as the most analyzed movie in Indian cinema. It's an evergreen classic. But the dacoit took revenge by killing Thakur's family members and chopping off his both arms. Thakur hires the services of two small-time thieves Veeru and Jai and rest is history.

The film has unforgettable dialogues that are still recited by the movie-lovers in India. Be it acting, music or picturisation, Sholay does not disappoint its viewers. Some of the characters like Gabbar Singh, Basanti, Thakur and Jai-Veeru became legends in Indian Cinema. These names are now a part of Indian household. sholay is unique cannot be recreated. This is proved when a very talented director Ram Gopal Verma produced its remake "RGV's Aag" recently. Not surprisingly, it turned out to be the biggest flop of the year. TITANIC (1997)

The only Hollywood movie that took the Bollywood by storm is "Titanic". Several movies came and went before and after Titanic. But none of them generated such passion, emotion and sense of love that Titanic did.

Titanic is a 1997 American romantic drama about the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Its star cast included Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio. They formed the on-screen pair Rose and Jack. The film is based on a true story of the ill-fated 1912 voyage of the ship. The film proved to be a critical and commercial success. It won 11 Academy Awards and generated the highest revenue in Hollywood History - US$1.8 billion.

The love story begins inside ship when Jack proposes Rose, but she declined it because of her engagement obligations. However, later she changed her mind to fall for Jack in a secret romance. Their love gained momentum and they decided the leave the ship. However, fortune had something else for them in store. The ship collided with an iceberg and it was sinking. In between, there was some action, as Rose's finance got to know about their affair. The ship finally sank with thousands of people meeting death. Rose survives, but Jack could not. But their love never dies. It lives forever.

Titanic turned out to be great success worldwide. It swept all the awards. Among all, it received 11 Oscar Academy Awards, The Golden Globe and many more. It was dubbed into all major languages and was screened all over the world. Surprisingly, it received overwhelming response everywhere. No other movie has ever achieved such distinction.
